It was all fun and games at Meadowmill Sports Centre last Thursday when Active Schools ran their first Primary School Disability Activity festival of this year. Children all across East Lothian have been accessing sessions delivered by the Active Schools team during school time and the festival created the opportunity to bring all groups together to showcase their skills and to have some fun. The pupils have been focussing on basketball, boccia and practicing all of the skills that the sports involve. The festival was broken down into three basketball stations and three boccia related stations. The whole team was impressed with the enthusiasm shown by all of the children and also by the level of talent on display!
Active Schools would like to say a big thank you to all of the school staff that brought the children up to take part, to Telford College for assisting at the stations and to Gary Fraser (Sport Development Coordinator, Lothian Disability Sport) and Stevie Duff (East Lothian Disability Sport Development Officer) for their help on the day.
